Adrian is looking forward to attending the ACG IP Expo on the 25th of September. ACG's four IPExpos are held annually across the UK and Ireland to provide the very latest in brand training and to create an informal networking platform for the IP community. Enforcement officers (police, trading standards and customs) in each region are invited to attend.
As well as networking opportunities and updating their brand knowledge, attendees will enjoy a varied programme of expert guest speakers providing the very latest information, research and developments in the continued fight against counterfeiting.
We're delighted to say that we have been kept rather busy with our watch training courses of late, and they tend to get booked up really quickly, with some companies organising private training events.
These courses are suitable for watch retailers, valuers, auction house specialists, pawnbrokers, novice collectors, and anyone with an interest in finding out more about the world of watches.
Should you require the content of any of these courses tailored to your organisation, or have more than eight people to train, we would usually advise hosting a private event, making it more cost-effective and convenient to your employees.
Adrian Hailwood will be presenting 'Watches - The Devil in the Details - Tiny Errors that make authentication easier' on the Sunday of the conference.
The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that things have appeared to be a little quiet at The Watch Scholar recently. Since the launch of The Watch Scholar in December 2023, we have been privileged to receive universally positive feedback on the courses and projects we have delivered.
We are currently working with global businesses and industry-leading sales platforms to deliver watch education and authentication. We may be quiet but The Watch Scholar is not standing still. We have a HUGE project in the pipeline that we hope to be able to launch and share more about in Autumn 2024.
Written by Adrian Hailwood at The Watch Scholar, The Watch Register’s 10-year Anniversary report details the company’s achievements to date, its importance to the numerous stakeholders it works with, and its vision for the future. The power of their search algorithms and the dedication of their recovery team are all unlocked with just a serial number.
A fascinating weekend spent at the Jewellery Valuers Association Spring symposium with speakers Rui Galopim de Carvalho, Shirley Mitchell FGA DGA FJVA, Charles Bexfield FGA DGA EG, Karra Ellison FJVA FGA DGA and Tim Bicknell DGA FJVA.
My contribution was an update on the latest developments in clone counterfeit watch movements. As the fakes get better, a quick glance is no longer enough. Scarily, some of the components we thought they could never copy are now starting to appear...
